From Toronto Arrows to The Whites

• Centre Jack Evans signs for the All Whites
• Previous Premiership experience with Llandovery RFC
• Scarlets and Wales U16 and U18 player, and now involved with the Ospreys u23’s

With the first fixture of the season fast approaching, Swansea RFC are pleased to announce the signing of centre, Jack Evans.

At only 22 years old, Jack already has a wealth of rugby experience, both at home, across the border, and overseas. The former Llandovery College student has previously played for Llandovery RFC, and was part of both the Scarlets and Wales U16s and 18s squads. A spell at Gloucester Academy saw him briefly play on the Singha 7s circuit, whilst a move to his birth country, Canada, gave Jack the opportunity to play rugby union with the Toronto Arrows. Now back in Wales, as well as his involvement with The Whites, Jack is also with the Ospreys u23’s.

On signing for the club, Evans said, “Becoming the third generation of my family to wear the famous All Whites shirt, with my father Jeremy, and Grandfather Denver, also having played for the club is a huge honour. I’m looking forward to following in their footsteps and I can’t wait for my first run our on the pitch at St Helen’s.”

Head coach, Hugh Gustafson added, “Jack has returned back to Wales from applying his trade in the MLR with the Toronto Arrows to join up with The Whites which was an opportunity we were really keen to offer him. Jack’s ability to play full back and centre has strengthened our squad for this season and we’ve already seen great effort from him during pre-season.”
