Otten Joins as SRFC Commercial Manager

Swansea RFC are pleased to welcome Scott Otten to the board as commercial manager for the All Whites.

A familiar face to many at St Helens having coming through the player pathway with the Ospreys, Otten made 36 appearances in the Whites jersey , as well as featuring with Wales U20’s and playing club rugby with Aberavon, Neath and Waunarlwydd.  Otten made his Ospreys debut in 2014 and went on to make 110 appearances for the region before injury forced an early retirement in 2021.

Scott has been building his own business, SO Coffee, whilst playing at regional level offering locally roasted coffee on a wholesale and online basis. It’s this business experience that has brought Scott into the position of commercial manager for Swansea RFC, with the aim of strengthening commercial relationships with local businesses within the area.

On his appointment to the role, Otten said, “’I was approached by David Blyth and Richard Lancaster about an opportunity to head up the commercial team at St Helens. I saw this as a great opportunity to bring people together, which is the ethos of my own business SO Coffee. The most effective way for a business to grow is to understand their journey and to work with good people. SO Coffee and The Whites go hand in hand when it comes to bringing people together for the benefit of everyone involved.

‘Throughout this process we will be striving to introduce current and new businesses into the life of Swansea RFC with opportunities for a variety of businesses to network, create new connections and to become a big part of the future of this historic club. I know first hand from being a player at St Helens how important this club is to the local area and how crucial it is for the players involved to keep on having the opportunity to develop, grow and also play in this fantastic venue.

‘Over the next two years, we will be utilizing the venue to its full potential, maximising the benefits in which St Helens can offer to the local community and further. I am excited for this opportunity to work with the outstanding businesses within the Swansea area to develop trusting and ever growing relationships. We will continue to create new opportunities within this amazing location and the historic club in which people can be proud of’

With rugby all set to be returning in September kicking off with the Indigo Group Premiership Cup, the club currently have a variety of commercial options to suit any size businesses, from match day programme adverts to player sponsorship and match day sponsors.
