The official opening of the ‘memorial gates’ at the gorse lane end of the ground took place in December 1959. The gates were paid for by the supporters’ club group and were dedicated by Canon HC Williams, vicar of Swansea. In the picture (left to right) are Tom Davies, Mervyn Hosea, Eddie Rickard, Horace Leyshon, Cliff Bancroft, Aubrey Powell, Alan Lloyd, Albert Davies, Wilfred Hill and Dudley George.
