Swansea Gladiators on their 30th Birthday

Swansea Gladiators Mixed ability Rugby Club have been here for 30 years now and have a long association with Swansea RFC. This season will see them play some games at St Helen’s and The Whites are proud to be associated with such a forward thinking and committed club. Tony Gemine of Swansea Gladiators tells us more…

This year marks Swansea Gladiators RFC’s 30th year.  As the World’s oldest Mixed Ability (MA) rugby team we’ve played across Europe and inspired many other clubs to embrace MA rugby.  Next June there will be a celebration of MA rugby in Cork, Ireland when we travel to compete in the third International Mixed Ability Rugby Tournament (IMART).

IMART 2022 will see over 1000 players from 14 countries gather to compete for the IMART trophy and the Spirit of Rugby trophy over in a week long tournament, a tournament that puts MA rugby on the world stage and provides a platform to grow the game even more!

On Saturday as Swansea play Llanelli, you’ll see some of our players with donation buckets.  All money raised will go towards our travel, kit and accommodation in Cork.  We don’t receive any central funding so we rely heavily on our sponsors and events like today so please donate what you can, it’s a great cause.
