Another ‘Special Feature’ from the St Helen’s Archives

Today sees the publication of another ‘Special Feature’ from the St Helen’s Archives.

This latest feature has been carefully compiled by Swansea RFC Supporters’ Club Chairman, and regular ‘Man on the Mic’ at The Whites & Ospreys – Paul Tabram, better known to all at St Helen’s as “Tabbsy”. Our new subject is Charlie Saxton, a hugely influential figure in post-war rugby.

The story has come about after our 1945 NZEF (New Zealand Expeditionary Force Rugby Team) jersey was archived as part of the ongoing project to make the whole collection at St Helen’s available to the wider community. As with the other objects in the collection, our NZEF jersey has held its secrets and fascinating story much to itself – and now ‘Tabbsy’ unravels the tale for everyone to enjoy…
