Fellow flanker Gareth Jones took over as captain from Richard Francis.

The season commenced with defeats to Neath and Ebbw Vale before 4 consecutive wins. The league double was secured over Llanelli on 30 December which started a 6 game unbeaten run before a 55 points to 39 cup defeat to Llanelli at St Helens.

Swansea ended the season in 9th position out of 17 with a record of played 32, won 17 drawn 2 and lost 13 for a total of 53 points, points for 840, points against 731 with 95 tries scored. Doubles were achieved over Cardiff and Llanelli.

Wales International prop Paul James made a solitary appearance for the club (1 other appearance in 2005/06). Future Osprey Ben Lewis made his club debut.

For the 2nd successive season Luke Richards created a club points record for a season. He beat his previous season’s best of 394 with 412, comprising 4 tries, 74 penalty goals, 2 drop goals and 82 conversions from his 33 appearances. Left wing Nicky Jones was top try scorer with 17.

There were farewells to utility forward Gavin Vaughan Evans (55 appearances), centre Paul Mackey (53 appearances) and full back Gareth Swales (64 appearances).
