Gareth Newman continued as captain for a 2nd consecutive season. The season started brightly with a 36-30 win at Cardiff and a home victory over Glamorgan Wanderers by 33 points to 29. This however was followed by a very disappointing period of 4 wins and 13 losses. With the threat of relegation looming, Swansea managed to end the season with 6 consecutive league wins before a final day defeat at Glamorgan Wanderers. Having yet again secured the league double over Cardiff it was particularly disappointing to suffer a heavy 39 points to 8 defeat to them in the cup at St Helens. The league double was also achieved over Llandovery. Swansea ended the season in 9th position out of 14 with a record of played 26, won 12 and lost 14 for a total of 36 points, points for 487, points against 609 with 53 tries scored. Doubles were achieved over Cardiff, Bedwas, Carmarthen Quins and Llandovery.>

During the season Ospreys and Neath prop and future Wales international Craig Mitchell made 5 appearances. Full back Ricky Williams was top points scorer with 97 points (3 tries, 21 penalty goals, 1 drop goal and 8 conversions). Top try scorer was Ben Lewis with 8. 2nd row Daniel Lloyd Jones made the most appearances with 26. There were farewells to utility back Stuart Thomas (40 appearances) and 2nd rows Noel Thomas and Ian Evans (103 and 86 appearances respectively).
