A licensee, Joe Jones played just once for Wales, against France at Stade Colombes on 27th March 1924. The Pontardawe born centre three-quarter played for Swansea first fifteen during 1923-24 where he finished the season as top try scorer (11) and points scorer (44) before signing for Leeds RLFC in August 1924. Joe was also capped once for the Wales RL team. Jones was born 15th March 1899 (Pontardawe) and died 27th January 1960 in Wakefield, Yorkshire
