SWANSEA RFC CHOSEN CHARITIES update
As the season draws to an end I'd like to draw attention to the superb effort by the Club, supporters and friends in raising money for this season's 'Chosen Charities'.
The joint charities this season have been the Swansea Gladiators and the Haemophilia Society. Our own Sarah Standen in The Whites office and her family are heavily involved with the former while the Haemophilia Society was chosen as the late great Eddie Burns' great grandson is a sufferer.
The target for the season was optimistically set at £2000 and so far £1,986.76 has been raised, a tremendous effort, especially in the hard times we all find ourselves in currently. It's a true reflection on Swansea Rugby Club's place in the community that such a great effort can be made to help local causes and those in need. The money so far raised breaks down into the following:-
Bucket Collection v Llanelli 19/9 - £268.95
Collection at Club Carol Service 10/12 - £250.80
Goatee Beard Sponsorship - £1,276.61 (more to come)
Auction at Club Dinner Friday 21st May - TBA
