The Quins kicked off in sunny conditions but with a strong wind in their favour. After 3 minutes Swansea were adjudged offside 5 metres inside their own half. Gareth Cull kicked the resultant penalty to take the lead.

After a brief period of Swansea pressure the Quins were caught offside in their own 22 and Nicky Thomas levelled the scores on 18 minutes. Quickly after the restart James Dixon made a break from 20 metres inside his own half and ran cross field to score a try in the left hand corner for an excellent solo try.

A good passage of play by Quins in the Swansea half ended with right wing Richard Carter breaking Nicky Thomas’s tackle to score a try under the posts that Cull converted. A minute later Swansea was penalised at a ruck 5 metres inside Quins half and Cull kicked the 55 metre penalty with ease.

On 37 minutes Swansea were adjudged offside 15 metres out in front of the posts. Cull’s penalty brought up his 100 points for the season. A further Cull penalty on 45 minutes brought the 1st half to an end.

The opening 20 minutes were scrappy with 2 Quins players being sin binned, Flanker Ellis Lloyd and replacement prop Mathew Monaghan, resulting in passive scrums for a brief period.

On 20 minutes Swansea pressure at a scrum 10 metres out made their player advantage count with Dixon crossing in the left hand corner for his 2nd try, Nicky Thomas converting.

8 minutes later a Swansea drive from the Quins 22 saw Alun Wyn Davies cross for a try in a similar place to Dixon’s earlier effort.

With 4 minutes of normal time left Dixon kicked a 30 metre drop goal which Nicky Thomas added to with a 35 metre penalty a minute later.

2 minutes into injury time replacement wing Leigh Bevan kicked ahead in his own half and gathered to score a crucial winning bonus point try which Nicky Thomas converted.

With the last play of the game Quins scored a try in the left hand corner from Martin Morgan following a forward drive.
