Leslie Davies ( Bychan) 13-7-1913 to 4-9-1984

Leslie was brought up in the Port Tennant District of Swansea, one of 6  Brothers and 2 Sisters. He attended Danygraig School and eventually became a  Wagon Repairer at Port Tennant Railway Yard.

Leslie began playing Rugby at  Bonymaen RFC in 1931, and transferred to Swansea RFC in 1936. He won  2 Welsh Caps for Wales in 1939, the 1st against Scotland at The Cardiff Arms Park on the  4th February 1939, Wales winning 11-3. The Wales Team that day consisted of  5 Davies's: C.H.Davies, W.T.H.Davies, and Leslie Davies (all Swansea),  W.E.N.Davies ( Cardiff ) and M.J.Davies ( Oxford ).Incidentally this was Wales last home game before the War.

The 2nd Cap was against Ireland at Ravenhill ( Belfast ), on the 11th March  1939, which Wales won 7pts to Nil : A Try and a Drop Goal, The Drop Goal was  to prove the last one worth 4pts to be scored by Wales. All the points that  day being scored by Willie Davies, ( Haydn Tanner's cousin and Half Back  partner at Swansea).

On winning his 1st Cap, Leslie became the 1st Player from Bonymaen RFC, to have won a Cap. After the War, Leslie became a Commitee Man and Life Member of Swansea RFC.
