Owen Howe is the latest Whites recruit

Swansea RFC can announce the latest pre-season signing as centre, Owen Howe.

From Nantyfyllon RFC at junior level, Howe combined studying and rugby at Llandovery College and signed for Bridgend Ravens in 2013 straight from there. 37 appearances later, and a Swalec Cup win with the club in 2015, Howe moved to Cross Keys for one season and now joins us from league champions, Merthyr RFC.

The Sport and Physical Education Graduate from Cardiff Met represented the Ospreys at Under 16’s and under 18’s and makes the moves to Swansea RFC looking for his next rugby challenge, commenting that; “There’s a mix of youth and experience amongst the players which hopefully I can continue to learn from as well as help some of the younger boys. I’ve played with a couple of the players at previous clubs and they’ve had only good things to say about Swansea which made the decision to make the move much easier.

Hopefully I can go out and help on improving last season’s league performance and it should be a competitive season. Pre-season has been challenging but hopefully all the hard work will pay off and I will earn my place in the squad.”

Director of Rugby Richard Lancaster said; 'Owen is a versatile player who has sampled quite a lot of premiership rugby. That said, we don't think he's reached his true potential yet and that's the job of myself and the coaching team to bring the best out of him. He's a good athlete and has contributed well since being with the squad”
