Saturday sees the Welsh cup competition return to St Helen's with Swansea drawn against old rivals Newport. It was against Newport that Swansea won the cup in 1978, led by Alan Meredith.
Now with both east and west divisions of the Premiership coming together Newport and Swansea will have the chance to see where they stand against each other prior to a league encounter (April 2nd - Rodney Parade). Both sides are playing well though Swansea have not had the benefit of the wins they deserve. Saturday's game will be a chance to shine in the cup and use the impetus to progress in the unified league.
This Saturday will also see the 200th appearance for six time Swansea captain Sam Kiley, a remarkable record, especially when his recent run of injuries is taken into consideration. The team will want to put an exceptional performance in to celebrate Kiley's milestone.
